Our Neighbourhood Plan needs to go through different stages to make sure it meets legal requirements and reflects the community's vision. These steps and the draft timeline are below.

August 2018 - July 2020

PLAN PREPARATION
STATUS: COMPLETE

Community engagement
Appraisal of options
Development of policies and proposals.

July 2020 - May 2021

DRAFTING THE PLAN
STATUS: IN PROGESS

Writing the draft plan
Engagement with Whaley Bridge, Town Council, High Peak Borough Council and Peak District National Park Authority.

June 2021 - July 2022

PRE-SUBMISSION CONSULTATION

Consultation on the plan
Analysis of responses
Amend plan.

August 2022 - June 2023

SUBMIT PLAN

Submit Plan to High Peak Borough Council
Publicity and consultation by High Peak Borough Council.

June 2023 - November 2023

EXAMINATION AND DECISION

Plan is scrutinised by an appointed Examiner
High Peak Borough Council Committee approval is sought.

December 2023

REFERENDUM

Referendum has taken place.
Plan "made" as a majority votes for it. January 2024
