THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN HAS BEEN "MADE" AND NOW SITS ALONGSIDE THE LOCAL PLAN FOR THE TOWN
We are delighted that the community of Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale voted in the majority in a referendum on the Whaley Bridge Neighbourhood Plan .This plan has been produced by the Town Council in conjunction with Vision4 Whaley.
WHAT IS BEING VOTED ON?
Your chance to have your say!
All the policies within The Plan have been made after listening to the views of local people. It has now been through all stages of the consultation and approval by HPBC. It is ready to be voted on.
The vote is on this plan as amended by the Examiner's Recommendations attached to the Decision Notice above.
You can see it on the HPBC website or by clicking the button below.
What happens next?
Once a local referendum has taken place votes will be counted. If the plan is supported by over 50 per cent of those who vote, the plan or order is then ‘made’ (brought into force) by the local authority. The Neighbourhood Plan will be used to shape planning policy over the next 10 years. The final plan will be taken into account when the Council is weighing up new proposals for housing or industrial development in the area.
